6 Spring Trends

Welcome back! 
I hope your week was great, and I hope you have an awesome weekend ahead too (happy early Easter!). Can you believe this year has passed by so quickly? I got married back around New Year's and I can't believe it's been almost 4 months since that special day. We're already midway through spring for heaven's sake! 

I thought it was about time you guys get the latest (MODEST) spring trends. Here are 6 for you modest fashionistas. :)



1. Florals, florals, florals

What? Florals are in for spring? No way!

Yes, floral patterns are big this season (no surprise there, haha). BUT, this year's floral patterns are seeming to be bigger and bolder than ever! This bigger floral print is all about confidence and making a statement (kind of like the MikaRose dress from my last post). I found this cute top at DownEast, and I've gotten so many compliments on it! If you look closely, there's a lace trim along the bottom that just gives it an extra touch of loveliness. Florals=a must!

2. Thick Stripes

Next up: STRIPES! This season, we are looking at thick, defined stripes. Stripes are pretty much the best patterns EVER because you can easily dress them up or dress them down. I decided to give this outfit a more casual feel by pairing my striped skirt with a baseball tee and sandals. (Does anyone else have a zillion striped shirts in their wardrobe? I can't seem to get enough of them, haha.) I found this knee-length skirt while thrifting and it is such a fun pattern to wear!

3. Vibrant Colors

Can you believe I got this cute blue top from Deseret Industries? That's right, only $6. (Woot, woot!) Color trends for spring = blue, pink, and yellow! Some of the shades seen on the runway include Lapis Blue, Primrose Yellow, and Pink Yarrow! I decided to go with a blue theme for this spring-y outfit. Let me know what color you are most excited about this spring!

4. Shoe Trends: Strappy Sandals

Strappy shoes are soooo popular this season. Not only shoes that are strapped up, but also tied up. Remember a couple years ago how the "gladiator" sandals were in? Well this year we are looking at sandals that have sort of an "en pointe ballerina" feel. ;) I got these strappy brown sandals from Target a couple weeks ago, and I'm loving them! They go with EVERYTHING.

5. "Um... Khakis?"

That's right, khaki is in! Khaki dresses, skirts, pants, and jackets were all over the runway this season. Even Jake from State Farm is wearing it, (haha).
I got my khaki dress from Ross! I think khaki can be a bit plain by itself, so I dressed it up with a cute polka dot cardigan (Target) and vintage sandals (Ross). 

6. Ruffles 

Ruffles for days. They give a fun, feminine vibe to every outfit, don't you think? I paired my ruffled cardigan with my lace ruffled top and dark wash jeans. A lady-like look that is very much "in" this spring!
