Monthly Inspired Look: Vintage Rose

Good morning, everybody! How was your week? I hope you are enjoying the heat, we sure are! It's been perfectly sunny all week here in Utah. Travis and I will be going on a hike this morning (our first hike as a married couple, haha). We both really love the outdoors so I'm super excited to be out in nature again!

So I decided to change things up just a little bit this week, and show you an outfit I put together for the month of May! I feel like this outfit pretty much sums up what May is all about-- flowers, sunshine, pastel colors, and, well, happiness! I got this entire outfit (minus the shoes) for just $30 at Ross (SCORE). This is why Ross will forever remain one of my favorite stores. :)

I loooove sunhats. I never really wore hats in the past, but now I am such a big fan of them! I wasn't sure if Ross would carry sunhats (well, cute sunhats anyway) but I found this really adorable lace hat for $6. There is delicate lace detailing, and even a little bit of tulle in between the layers! Probably what makes this hat even more special is the intricate braid and little bow in the back (sooo lady like ;). I kind of feel like a character in Downton Abbey when I wear this hat, haha.

When I first found this shirt at Ross, I wasn't sure if I wanted to try it on at all. It was a larger size and just looked too baggy. It was on clearance though (and we all know that a clearance item at Ross is going to be SUPER cheap). So I decided to try it on anyway, and with a few adjustments, it was perfect! Tying a knot in the front with the excess length makes it have a cool, vintage-y feel. This shirt was definitely a score! It was about $9 and the fabric is sooo soft. **TIP: if you are going to tie a knot in the front, make sure to wear an undershirt, because your shirt will tend to go up if you raise your arms.

Finding these longer shorts at Ross was a pretty lucky (and rare) find! The rips, tares, and frayed edges give it a casual, fun vibe in my opinion. I looove the light wash color too! It just adds to the vintage look. I bought these shorts for only $13. Most of the other shorts at the store were way too short, but every once and a while you do come across short that are just right! *Side note-- my sandals were from Target, they were about $15 (full price).

Alright, thanks for stopping by and making it to the end of this post! This was a fun one for me, to try to pick an outfit that represents the month of May. Let me know if you liked it and if I should do more of these in the future!

See you here next week and thank you for all of your support,

-Sydney :)
