Fall Into Place...

Wow, it's been a long time since my last blog post. I could give so many excuses as to why I haven't kept up with the blog-- school, homework, a new job, etc. Life was getting a little to hectic to squeeze in getting all dolled-up, having a mini photo shoot and spending hours to get a post prepared, but I truly missed having that creative little niche! Right now, things have finally fallen into place, and I'm ready to give Modified a bit of a rebirth and a fresh start.

I have a broader purpose in mind for this blog: to encourage "modifying" the fashion norms, and staying true to your own unique beauty.

This of course means, for example, sewing sleeves onto a top to make it fit your modesty standards. And in the future I will be extending this to other realms too-- makeup, hair, health, etc. Basically, I want to show how you can personalize not only your outfits, but also your hairstyles, makeup routines, and a whole bunch of other stuff... I can't wait. :)

Anyways, let's get started with today's post. Ohhhh my gosh, guys, IT'S FALL. You all know what I'm about to say-- "it's like totally, like, my favoritest season, like, EVER." Haha.

Yes, I know it's cliche, but fall is my favorite season of the year. I love the familiar scent of rain, the golden colors in nature, the delicious pumpkin candles, the warm cable-knit sweaters. It's allllll good. One of the hugest perks of fall, a-hem, MODEST clothes are in style! It's so much easier to dress according to my modesty standards when it's cold outside. ;) And not only that-- sweatshirts are in style too! I just disguise them as over-sized knit sweaters, haha.

I also love being able to break out my cool weather clothes. My mom surprised me with this dress a couple days before I got married last December-- such a special memory. It's from Macy's for those wondering. The cool black contrasts so well with the lighter brown polka dots... it just feels like it's made for fall time. If you look closely, you can see it has are ruffles and ruching (which gives it an extra touch of fabulous. :) The high quality fabric is not necessarily warm, however it gives the right amount of stretch to flatter any figure.

I paired the dress with these sleek little black booties. The slight heel gives this outfit a slightly more vixen feel. ;) These were a Christmas gift; I want to say they were from JCPenney's. They are soooo, so versatile and go well with jeans or even a nice evening dress like this one.

Who else really, really likes boots? I think they elevate any outfit and really make dressing up fun in the fall time.

(Having fun with the metallic pumpkin, haha.)

Ahh, fall decor. I bought these little pumpkins at Dollar Tree. I also got some fall themed vase fillers and flowers there. They seriously have SUPER NICE fall decor this year-- I would go as far as saying it's Target worthy, guys. Haha. But you all should definitely check it out. :)

Thanks for reading this week's post! Sorry it is kind of short, I'm planning some awesome things for the future though! I'll be back with another blog post next week so let me know if there's any topic you would really like a post on.

See you next time,

Sydney :)
