Hello ladies! How was your week? I hope it was wonderful. This week was really fun for our family-- we had another nephew born this past Monday! He is seriously the cutest. I can't get enough of those baby snuggles. :) Also, the semester finally finished up on Wednesday for Trav, so all he has is a couple finals and then it's officially summertime for him! I start school in the Spring so we will basically be flip-flopping schedules, haha.
Anyways, this week is all about how to wear the dreaded crop top. I'm from California, so I know how frustrating it is to find shirts that come all the way down to your jeans. I feel like it's so hard to find anything BUT crop tops in stores during the summer!
But-- there is a way to wear these shirts while being stylish and MODEST! Scroll down for some awesome tips on how to wear the crop top. ;)
1. MIDI SKIRTS. Guys, these skirts will be your best friend when it comes to crop tops. Midi skirts have slowly become popular which is so awesome (and almost unbelievable!). These skirts typically come down below the knee, somewhere around mid-calf length.
Because they are longer than most skirts, midi's work perfectly with crop tops! Alls you have to do is wear the skirt slightly above the waistline instead of on top of the hips and-- BAM, modest. Not only does this hack make your outfit modest, but it gives you a nice hourglass figure because the waistline is being defined by the skirt.
If you're worried about your midriff being exposed when you raise your arms, no problem! I always wear a tight undershirt underneath the crop top just in case.
I found my floral crop top, vintage midi skirt, and fuschia heels at Deseret Industries for a whopping $17! Sometimes thrifting can really pay off. ;)

Here are more crop top hacks:
2. Sew FRINGE or extra fabric to bottom of the crop top. If you use fringe, you can give the shirt more of a bohemian vibe (which sounds really cool, I may just try it).
You can find fringes and fabrics at any fabric/craft store (Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Beverlys, etc)!

3. High-waisted jeans. They give a nice vintage look to any outfit, right? :) This hack works similarly to the midi skirt hack. Crop top + High-waisted = perfection!
These jeans can be found at places like Kohl's, H&M, Forever21, Charlotte Russe; the list could go on forever. ;)

4. Wear OVER a dress. I've seen this style everywhere, and it is so cute! I would suggest wearing it over a dress that is tighter fitting or that flares out at the natural waistline or hip.
Good dresses for this look: The "Fit and Flare Cami dress" at Old Navy ($29.94) or the "Ribbed Dress" at H&M ($12.99).

5. You can even wear the crop top with an undershirt and jeans. You do you, girl!
I hope these modesty hacks have helped you out in some way! I know it can be hard to shop for, let alone FIND modest shirts, so why not reinvent crop tops and MAKE them modest? Who knows, maybe you'll start a new trend. ;)
Thanks for reading and I'll see you beauties here next week!
